Hike to Cape Falcon - 2/16/15

We decided it was time to get out of town for Bruce's day off work.  

We headed to the coast to Smugglers Cove where pirates used to unload their cargo!

 Oliver couldn't wait to see it.

So, we packed the car...

 ...and off we went!

It was a gorgeous beach.  Lots of surfers & families out for the day.

We started to hike....

Bruce had the gear and Jill had the Oliver.

Gorgeous views!  Breathtaking scenery!

Off to Cape Falcon...

Our first stop to rest...

And we made it to the top!

On the way back, Dad took over the carrier.

There's where we hiked to! Five miles round trip.

Then we headed into Cannon Beach for fish & chips at Ecola Market.

...where Ollie conked out again  :)

Then we checked out the sunset on the beach before heading home...

Oliver's First Gruel - January 30, 2015

Oliver, at almost 5 months now, had his first solid food the other day.

Rice cereal! 

When he finished, he reached out his bowl to us and said, please sir, can I have some more?  Ha!
